Marlies Ostermann is Professor of Intensive Care and Nephrology at Guy’s & St Thomas Hospital in London. Her academic and clinical interests relate to acute kidney injury,  sepsis and extracorporeal organ support in critically ill patients.

She is President Elect of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, Director of Research of the Intensive Care Society UK, Co-Chair of the KDIGO AKI guideline, and a member of the guideline panel of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign.
